# Be Available to Be God’s Spokesperson

> Being available as God's spokesperson means rethinking your time and priorities to serve others. Like Isaiah and Paul, true readiness requires clearing space in your life for kingdom work.

Agreeing with God that I might make myself available to proclaim His name—to speak on His behalf to others—transformed the purpose of my ordinary days. It meant rethinking my time. It meant praying about my schedule. It meant opening up space in my life for the purpose of being available to love and serve others. The word “available” means to be used at someone else’s disposal.

It means being ready for use at any time.

Seated people, like the Knights of the Round Table, are available at any time to serve King Arthur. Nothing else takes priority over this. They never say, “I’m sorry, but I’m busy. Go ask someone else.” I want to be like Isaiah who, when God asked, “Whom shall I send?” replied, “Here I am. Send me” (Isaiah 6:8). I want to be like Paul whose advice to young Timothy was to “be prepared in season and out of season” to preach the word. Paul was ready at all times, and in Colossians 4:3, he prays that “God may open a door” for the message of the gospel. Every circumstance was about proclaiming the gospel.

Was I available to be God’s spokesperson? Like Paul? Like the apostles? Was I as eager and unashamed as that? And what did it mean to clear my schedule and to make myself available?

I answered this question with “Yes.” I put aside my frantic and fame-seeking life to simply be available. I didn’t even know what that meant, really. I just know that I agreed to be available to the Lord to be His spokesperson, and what followed next changed me in ways I had never imagined.
