Angels play a key role throughout the Bible; they were present for creation and will also be there when Christ returns and creates a new heaven and earth. Angels serve as messengers, administers of the law and punishment, as protectors, guides, and are incredibly powerful. Though these verses give a detailed summary of their different physical appearances, roles, extent of power, and relationship to mankind, Hebrews 1 succinctly defines the pinnacle of their purpose as “ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation” (Heb 1:14).

Genesis 3:24
