Nehemiah wrote his book to the faithful remnant of post-exilic Israel to show them God’s gracious restoration of the Jewish people from captivity. By revealing God’s blessing in recapitulating the conquest as in the days of Joshua, he also looks forward to the ultimate blessing of restoration at the end of days.
