The resurrection is a vital part of the Christian faith. Christ’s resurrection is necessary for assuring our own salvation as He both secures our justification and defeats the power of death. Because Christ was resurrected, Paul makes it clear in his epistles that those who believe in Christ will also be resurrected both spiritually and physically. Every person is spiritually dead and through God’s mercy those who believe in Him are raise to spiritual life in Christ, and those people who die are raised physically on the last day to live with Him.

Matthew 16:21
From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.

Matthew 22:30–33
“For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. Romans 8:11

1 Corinthians 15:12–19
Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
