Christians are called to love others, and what better message of love could we share than the good news of the gospel of Jesus? We are called to share the gospel, and this is called “evangelism.” For some, evangelism has a bad reputation, but it shouldn’t be this way. In fact, regardless of how often we share the gospel with others, we should often pray for those in our lives who do not know Jesus. What does the Bible say about evangelism? Let’s look.

Old Testament

Psalm 105:1
Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name;
make known his deeds among the peoples!

Isaiah 12:4
And you will say in that day:
‘Give thanks to the Lord,
call upon his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples,
proclaim that his name is exalted.’

Ezekiel 38:23
So I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.

Matthew 4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’

Matthew 5:13-16
