Who we give honor to and how we do it is of great concern to God. Throughout Scripture God outlines various things and people we are to give honor to: the LORD, one’s parents, the elderly, the Sabbath, those in governing authority, members of your church, the elders of your church, marriage, and widows. Proverbs specifically outlines that the foolish are dishonorable, while those who honor God and seek wisdom and righteousness are honorable people.
