The gospel’s central message of Christ’s work for us would be impossible to tell without including the idea of grace, for it is by grace we have been saved. While a debt is a loan to be repaid, and mercy is the withholding of what you deserve, grace is freely giving blessings that you don’t deserve and cannot repay. Throughout the Bible, stories of God’s grace are evident, and throughout the New Testament, the writers of the epistles constantly expand on this idea. These verses outline and explain what God’s grace means.

What Does the Bible Say About Grace?

“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.”
